Through the activity I learned more about the biomagnification than before. Biomagnification is the concentration of toxins in an organism as a result of its ingesting other plants or animals in which the toxins are more widely disbursed. The picture showed that if a large predatory fish or Seabird eats one small fish, but that one small fish is containing 4 zooplanktons. And those 4 zooplanktons, each consumed 2 phytoplanktons, which means 4 zooplanktons consumed 8 phytoplanktons. But each phytoplankton had 5 Mercury, a toxic chemical, inside it. Which then, 4 zooplankton have 40 Mercury , and which means a large predatory fish or Seabird who eats all of those, contains 40 Mercury inside it, which is so harmful to that animal and so on the human.
